In the last year we:
- Increased our annual turnover to a new high of £51.2m, from £32.5m in 2010, an increase of 58%.
- Saved 21% per annum by moving to new open-plan premises on the Thames Embankment.
- Launched our innovative peer-to-peer micro-lending scheme, www.lendwithcare.org with The Co-operative as our partner.
- Made big strides in our Private Sector Engagement work, including giving 230,000 people across Africa access to financial services through the Banking on Change partnership with Barclays and Plan.
- Helped 20,000 poor households in Bangladesh access better services and participate in decision-making processes.
- Assisted over 6.5 million people in emergencies such as the flooding in Pakistan, the Haiti earthquake and the Niger food crisis.
Next year we plan to:
- Continue to build our capacity in Private Sector Engagement, Conflict, Governance and Shelter in Emergencies.
- Continue towards our goal of doubling donor numbers and unrestricted donations in five years.
- Focus on our impact and brand to tell our story better.
